About SCBWI Tokyo

Carla ShankThe Okinawa-based Seaside Stories Chapter of SCBWI was originally established by Regional Advisor Sandy Fox in the early 1990s. The current Regional Advisor Carla Shank took over from Bruce Shier in 1995. Under her guidance the region plays a significant role in SCBWI local and international activities.

Over the years Seaside Stories has organized a variety of critique groups, workshops and other events for Okinawa-based writers and illustrators. A listserv connects local SCBWI members, while close connections are maintained with SCBWI activities in the US.

Regular activites include monthly meetings, critique groups, illustrator corners, story contests, workshops and more.
