Keiko Okamoto
Keiko Okamoto was born in Kyoto and raised in Kamakura. She graduated from the Women's College of Fine Arts with a B.F.A. in dyeing and weaving. She is a fabric designer experienced in craft arts, Yuzen dyeing for kimonos, and commercial designs for western clothing. One of the fabrics she designed was displayed in "Structure and Surface; Contemporary Japanese Textiles" (1998) at the Museum of Modern Art, New York.

From 2001-2004 she lived in the United States, where she earned an M.S. in Textiles and Clothing at Ohio State University. She joined the Phoenix Rising Print-making Cooperative in Columbus, Ohio to learn solar plate etching for children's book illustrations. Since then she has been working on a children's book on how Japanese traditionally prepare and wear kimonos for New Year's Day.
